Original art with lots of sparkle and fun! My bejeweled wall art is made with laser cut 1/8-inch plywood which is painted with metallic acrylic, covered in glitter and then embellished with lots of vintage and contemporary brooches, handmade glass cabochons, crystal and glass rhinestones, embellishments, rhinestone chain, enamel charms and more.

My repurposed jewelry art can be handed down through many generations. You will find a new detail every you time look at it! The embellishments fill the entire artwork down to tiny 1.2mm crystals that are set using a toothpick and high powered magnifying light.

About the Artist

I’m Kolleen Handel and I have been creating jewelry and art for over four decades. I live and have my work studio in beautiful Kuna, Idaho.

Over the years I have worked with silversmithing, wire wrapping, beading, decoupage, resin art, painting and more.

I have collected a ton of jewels, rhinestones and embellishments along the way and came up with my Manic Bling Art as a way to repurpose my “treasures”. The brooches I use come from thrift stores, estate sales and retail shops.

It took me many years (and many failures) to master the art of glass photo cabochons, but I did it! You will find them in many of my repurposed jewelry art, and in glass photo jewelry that I currently sell in my Etsy shop at https://www.etsy.com/shop/ManicBlingJewelry
